1. Make it Bright

Having enough light to show your home off can help a potential buyer truly appreciate what your home looks like. Taking down drapes, putting in newer, brighter lightbulbs, and cleaning windows are all ways to let in some more light and allow your home to shine. This lets someone take in all the little details that may make your home special.

2. Depersonalize Your Home

While all those personal touches may have made your home special for as long as you’ve lived in it, it’s important to remove as much of that as you can when you’re selling. This is because too many personal items make it hard for a potential buyer to visualize themselves living in your home. 

3. Upgrade Wisely

Putting off a huge makeover or renovation until right when you decide to sell your home isn’t the best idea. However, small repairs can help sell your home easily. Painting walls to cover up scuffs or updating curtains to something more modern can help stir up interest.

4. Empty Closets

Storage is a high priority for many home buyers and it’s important that you showcase just how much your home has to offer. Cleaning out closets as much as you can, and organizing whatever is left in them, can help establish just how much storage is going to eventually be available to a potential buyer.
